Rent a canoe for a lake tour

With our one mile of shoreline, North Shore Campground is the perfect destination for those who love watersports. We have a boat ramp, and boat slips are available for rent on a daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis. We also rent fishing boats and kayaks & canoes. Lake Almanor offers excellent Rainbow and German Brown trout fishing, while small mouth bass, salmon, and catfish are also plentiful. Click here for a regularly updated fishing report.

Kids love our park. From swimming during the warm summer months, to riding bicycles along the campground roads, playing at the lakeside playground, catching tadpoles and butterflies, and buying ice cream at the campground store, there are plenty of fun activities for our younger guests! And of course, no camping trip would be complete without an evening of s'mores; each of our sites has a firering and picnic table.

All of our guests can access our free wireless hotspot and use our book lending library. Around the lake, both public golf courses and horseback riding are available. See the Area Info page for further information.

For those who like to hike, our resort is close to many of the trailheads for Caribou Wilderness and Lassen Volcanic National Park. Stop in at the office for directions, or click here for a list of nearby hikes ranging from easy to strenuous.

North Shore Campground is less than two miles from the town of Chester, which offers a variety of quaint bric-a-brac and antique stores. Chester also offers a variety of restaurants from which to choose, as well as a large grocery store and a bowling alley.
