With our one mile of shoreline, North Shore Campground is the perfect destination for those who love watersports. We have a boat ramp, and boat slips are available for rent on a daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal basis. We also rent kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. Lake Almanor offers excellent Rainbow and German Brown trout fishing, while small mouth bass, salmon, and catfish are also plentiful. Click here for a regularly updated fishing report.

Kids love our park, it’s perfect for kids of all ages! From swimming during the warm summer months, to riding bicycles along the campground roads, playing at the lakeside playground, catching tadpoles and butterflies, and buying ice cream at the campground store, there are plenty of fun activities for our younger guests! And of course, no camping trip would be complete without an evening of s'mores; each of our sites has a fire pit and picnic table.

For those who like to hike, our resort is close to many of the trailheads for Caribou Wilderness and Lassen Volcanic National Park. Stop in at the office for directions, or click here for a list of nearby hikes ranging from easy to strenuous.

North Shore Campground is less than two miles from the town of Chester, which offers a variety of quaint bric-a-brac and antique stores. Chester also offers a variety of restaurants from which to choose.
